Take a video tour of the new Detroit Shipping Company

I was lucky enough to be invited to the VIP launch party, or whatever its official name may have been, on Wednesday for the Detroit Shipping Company, the new food court/biergardens/event space opening soon in the lower Cass Corridor in a new two-floor structure made of metal shipping containers.

Podcast Detroit has a new studio in the building facing Peterboro Street, with a view of the downtown skyline, where we hope to be recording lots of shows and segments going forward. It’s a really neatly imagined space, with six restaurants, including Caribbean fusion, Thai street food and liquid-nitrogen ice cream, two full bars and a Falling Down Beer Co. micro-bar.

We’ll have a longer interview with the co-founder and director of operations on the Daily Detroit Happy Hour podcast later this week. Meanwhile, enjoy.
